A honed finish keeps the surface matte enough for the pale field and fine veining to remain readable.
The proportions can be made to order in another natural stone or in engineered stone, which is manufactured and should not be called natural stone. Marble, travertine, and limestone are among the natural alternatives; the final choice is matched to the visual direction and agreed sample.
