Marble Console Tables

Hallway consoles finish at 750–900 mm (30–35 in) high and 300–450 mm (12–18 in) deep, with walkway setting final depth. A 1,200 × 350 mm (47.2 × 13.8 in) top at 20 mm (0.79 in) and 2.7 t/m³ (168.6 lb/ft³) weighs 22.7 kg (50 lb) before base or drawers.

What console-table sizes can I plan for?

Amazstone’s console-table designs do not have a published length, width, height, material or top thickness. This page provides planning rules and calculation conditions in place of a standard size or stock specification.

Which console collection suits the wall?

Choose an entry, living-room or replacement-top direction only after measuring the wall segment and the clear path in front. A console that covers an outlet or blocks a radiator is not improved by a different stone.

Compare only pieces with the same wall length, depth and fixing requirement.

Can Amazstone make a console table to fit this wall?

Console tables are available from stock or made to order, with a one-piece minimum. Share the available wall length and depth, stone direction and fixing plan to ask for the current console-table list and a quote; you will receive a reply within 24 hours.

Stock and custom production are available with a minimum order of 1 piece; request this category's product list.

For an entry console, the useful photograph angle is from the walking path toward the wall. It shows projection into the route, outlet clearance and how the base meets the floor.

Which stone works for a narrow console top?

A narrow top magnifies every joint, edge and vein. Marble gives a clear patterned surface; filled travertine offers a linear field; quartzite raises the scratch and acid-resistance reference; onyx can be a feature surface when the slab and backing are approved.

Public range data does not certify a specific slab. See the marble reference, travertine reference and ASTM C503 marble specification for terminology.

How narrow can a marble console table be?

A 300 mm (12 in) depth can make a visually light entry piece, but it leaves little space beyond a shallow bowl or a slim lamp. A 400–450 mm (16–18 in) depth supports more objects and improves stability, provided the path remains usable.

1,500 × 400 mm (59.1 × 15.7 in)About 32.4 kg (71.4 lb)Longer wall and deeper use

Leave a clear route before deciding how grand the console can be. Front-to-back depth plus chair or door swing matters more than the wall length alone. The dining-table size guide demonstrates how to map clearances, even when the final piece is not for dining.

How should a heavy marble top meet the base?

The top must bear on the frame or legs through a defined contact area, not through a few hidden points. For a narrow console, the depth of the foot and the front-to-back stability are especially important. Drawer boxes, open shelves and wall fixings all change the load path.

At 2.7 t/m³ (168.6 lb/ft³), a 1,200 × 350 mm (47.2 × 13.8 in) top gains about 11.3 kg (24.9 lb) when thickness rises from 20 mm (0.79 in) to 30 mm (1.18 in). That extra mass increases the demand on the base and on anyone moving the piece. Review the stone-weight calculator together with a section drawing, wall substrate and fixing schedule.

How do you care for a stone console in an entry?

Keys, bags and metal objects can scratch a polished or honed surface, so use a tray or mat where those items land. Wipe rain spots and acidic spills promptly, then dry the stone. Keep acidic cleaners away from marble, travertine and onyx.

Inspect wall fixings and floor contact periodically. Do not lean on the front edge or use the top as a step. If a marble surface loses sheen or shows an etched ring, the marble cleaning and etching guide explains the next step.

What should a custom console drawing show?

Show wall length, overall height, front projection, top thickness, base footprint, drawer or shelf depth, outlet cut-outs, radiator clearance and the wall-fixing detail. Mark the finished floor level and the route from the entrance.

The custom stone furniture process covers approval and production steps. Stone selection, commercial quantity, schedule and delivery terms remain subject to the quotation.

What should be decided before buying a marble console?

The most useful questions concern depth, alternative uses, slab weight and restraint.

How deep should a marble console table be?

Many hallway and entry consoles start at 300–400 mm (12–16 in) deep, while a working surface may need 450 mm (18 in) or more. Measure the remaining walkway before choosing. A shallow top keeps circulation open, but lamps, bowls and drawer pulls still need usable clearance.

Can a marble console table be used as a desk?

It can provide a desk surface only if the height, knee clearance, depth and cable access suit the user. A 300 mm deep hallway console is usually too shallow for a laptop, forearms and a task chair. A deeper console with a modesty panel and power routing is a better starting point.

How much does a 1,200 x 350 mm marble top weigh?

A 1,200 × 350 × 20 mm top at 2.7 t/m³ weighs about 22.7 kg (50.0 lb). At 30 mm thickness it rises to about 34.0 kg (75.0 lb). A carved leg, steel frame, drawer box and packing add to the slab-only calculation.

Should a tall marble console table be fixed to the wall?

A tall, narrow console should be restrained when the design, wall substrate and local requirements call for it. Heavy stone above a small footprint can tip if someone leans on the front edge. The fixing must suit the wall and remain accessible for inspection; an installer should approve it.
