Breccia’s broken fragments make every frame visually different. During fabrication, the joints should be planned so the strongest fragments are not lost at an edge or awkward meeting point. This design can be made in another suitable natural stone, with its proportions adjusted to the room. Keep the finished surround at the clearance required by the firebox manufacturer and local code; the installer should also confirm the wall fixing and heat protection.
